Clicking "Edit" shows the wrong post. "Quick Edit" does the same.

  • As I said in the topic, when clicking edit on any post in my new installation, I instead get redirected to the edit page of the latest post. Whenever I click on the Quick Edit button for any post, it opens the Quick Edit bar for the very latest post. If I update the latest post, it throws back an Empty Response error. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Anyone have any ideas at all? I’m really stuck here.

Site URL? Which theme are you using?

And, as you can see, this is still a new install that I’m just trying to get working, so I’m using the default theme until I fix the posts issue.

The theme seems to be broken or corrupt. Activate another theme, reinstall the current theme with a freshly downloaded copy and come back to it by activating it. Possibly, all these problems will be over.

I just installed a new theme altogether, and I still have the problem with that. It isn’t the frontend itself, but it’s the Admin Control Panel that has the problem.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

I have absolutely no plugins installed.
I started out with the Twenty Eleven theme and the problem is in that too. Switching to others doesn’t help.
Reuploading wp-admin and wp-includes doesn’t fix the issue either.

Did you import contents from any of your existing/old blogs? There seems to be database errors too. For example look at your validation: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Ffowk.es%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=1&st=1&user-agent=W3C_Validator%2F1.3

One of the mistakes you can find there is that one post ID has been used for 9 posts, whereas it is a unique identifier used for only one post.

Thank you. That fixed the problem. 😀 I had imported everything from Tumblr and it gave silly IDs to each post, for some reason. Thank you!

    You are welcome.
