Clicked optimize – got blank screen… now what?

    Hi all…I chose only the basic options – the first few checkboxes- get rid of revisions, etc) and it started doing it but after a minute displayed a blank screen in settings (other than the wordpress backend dashboard). Shows no message, progress report, etc. Is my database suspect now? how can I tell if “optimize” did some damage to it due to an incomplete operation? how long should I wait with this blank screem before refreshing it or something?
