Clears password and will not let me login

    When I try to log into my localhost WordPress instance, it clears the password, does not display any message, and will not let me login. After awhile it will normally work but it is quite a pain. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    I have to ask the question of does it do anything other than clear the password? It doesn’t shake back and forth, right? Just removes the password and keeps the username intact? I had a similar issue months ago and trying to recall what the issue was.

    Yeah, it just clears the password and nothing else. If I type in the wrong password it shakes and says incorrect password so it’s recognizing that I’m typing in the right password. It just won’t let me in.

    From what I remember it was a PHP issue. I had to resort to resetting the ini file to the default. Just glad I changed the name for just that occasion. 😉

    Yeah, luckily it was just a WordPress instance I was using to learn about building child themes so I will probably just re-install. Thanks for your help though.
