Clearing WP Super Cache?

Just beginning to use this plug-in. So far, pretty good. But after changes made to site, obviously cached pages should be dumped so that new versions can be used and cached.

Is it generally the idea to delete the cached files from the server via the button on the WP Super Cache plug-in settings – every time, say, plug-ins are activated or deactivated? Kind of dumb question, I think, but still I would like a bit of clarification.
