The above table has grown to 20MB.
I suppose this table, together with the wpsu_ta_link_clicks table, contains data about the clicks on our affiliate links.

Is there a way to reduce the size of this table, for example by removing entries over a year old?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Yes, in the General settings tab you’ll see an option for “Trim stats older than:

Set that to the number of days you want to retain data for.

It cleans up the clicks in the background, so it may take some time for the clicks database to be trimmed.

    Thanks, I completely missed that.

@cartpauj I know you said it could take some time for the records to be deleted but is it normal that after almost 2 days not one single record has been deleted?

My database was recently imported and exported. Could this impact the purge process?
I’ve set “trim stats older than” to 12. The oldest records have a date_clicked of “2018-05-xx” but I suppose if the purge process looks at some record created or record updated variable it will not see any records older than 12 months.

The time is in days. So 12 would delete anything older than 12 days.

The auto trimmer runs via WP Cron in the background. So perhaps your WP Cron is not running.

You can install a plugin like WP Crontrol to take a closer look at what’s happening with WP Cron.

Look for the Tools -> Cron Events -> ta_cron_stats_trimmer and see when it runs next.

    See this screenshot: https://snipboard.io/z2vXuA.jpg

It says months regarding the “trim stats older than”.
Are you sure I should input days instead of months?

I will check regarding the cron job.

You’re correct, it is months not days.

OK, I started it manually and it works.
