  • How to delete old WordPress installs in c/panel. I have 2 old installs that are full of data and malware. The trouble is I don’t know what I am looking for in cpanel to delete them. I suspect that my host has somehow created redirects from the older versions and some files are integrated. (There seem to be duplicates of files) Can I get my host provider to bundle all the files together on my current WordPress site and then I can use a database cleaner and Malcare to clean up? Appreciate any help. Julie

You posted this in “localhost installs”? But you said you have a host. What’s up?

I created my site on a localhost then moved it to Bluehost…then created a new staging site. Whew! the old installations are still there. I want to delete the old files but somehow they seem to be connected to my current site. Just wondering how to go about deleting the old files. If I delete them and my site breaks is it as simple as restoring a backup to fix?

It should be. YOu need to delete the databases and files from the old sites. But backup first, and verify the backup.

Ok please explain what verify backup means and how to do this

download the backups, uncompress them, and make sure the files and databases you expect are there.
