15+ years WP user. Version: 5.7. Using the Classic Editor as delivered by the WP team.

Very simple and very annoying issue:

I edit in the classic editor. I use some dialogue from there, let’s say (CTRL+K) insert the link. After I leave the dialogue editor focus moves to the start of the document. The first line, first char.

Very annoying if the post is long. This happens with whichever dialogue, insert media, form, etc …

    ps: Theme Customizr.

I don’t understand this: “ps: Theme Customizr”

Can I assume you use Visual mode?
Using WP 5.7 with Classic Editor, I tried the scenario of going to the bottom of a long post, Visual mode, using Ctrl K to insert a link. After I hit Enter for the link the cursor remained right where it was. No problem.

Can you try the Health Check plugin in Troubleshoot mode, to disable plugins/theme for your user only? This can help determine if the cause is a plugin or WP. Obviously, leave the Classic Editor active. If you have any browser extensions that might be interfering, try without those active.

@joyously thanks for a quick reply.

“Theme Customizr” was meant to be: “I am using theme Customizr last many years”

let me report in few minutes on the rest.

    Culprit is “Instant Images” plugin.

I have notified Darren. (the developer)

If you could confirm my findings that might be helpful.

    Kind regards

I installed and activated the plugin and tried again, but I didn’t experience the issue.
Since I’ve never used that plugin, I don’t know if I need to do anything to make it interfere.
