Dear WP Community,

I tried to login to wp and get the error

“Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_privacy_anonymize_ip() in […]/class-wp-community-events.php on line 267”

I googled for it, but found no real answer, they were two approaches which didn’t work for me

A : It has to do the browser privacy mode. ->tried it with chrome, ffox, vivaldi – privacy mode on and off; nothing worked).
B : It has to do with an old IPv6 version (browser or server).
-> The server has IPv6 web server Apache/2.4.33 (Unix). Browsers have it too.

I have a multisite. Other users can’t login too.

Can anybody help me with that?

Sorry, sounds like problem is being caused by a plugin “Community Events”. Try disabling plugin. Seek support from plugin developer if that is the issue.

@jaycbrf Community Events is part of WordPress, in /wp-admin/includes/class-wp-community-events.php. It’s for the dashboard widget.

@cocosprings This looks like a WordPress update wasn’t fully completed. The class-wp-community-events.php file is using a function defined in wp-includes/functions.php, but your version of the file is missing the function because it wasn’t updated. This could happen if an update failed midway through.

I suggest performing a Manual Update, to ensure you’re completely up-to-date.

I just tried to log into wp-admin of my site this morning, not having done any admin work on my site in about a week, and suddenly I’m getting this exact same error as well. I haven’t done a WordPress update, so why would I suddenly be getting this error?
