Just need clarification on disallowing updates to a particular theme. I use the Atahualpa theme on a few of my sites and I don’t want to have it automatically update. But I do want to know when there’s an update available so I can udpate it manually. Will the updates screen still show me there’s an update even when I’ve disallowed update for the theme?

No, sorry, when you disable theme updates it doesn’t show them in the updates section.

You can disable automatic updates for the theme, but as far as I’m aware, no themes automatically update by default.

The point of disallow updates is if you have made customizations and you don’t want someone to accidentally update and overwrite your changes. This is why updates are no longer shown for the theme/plugin that is disabled.

Oh, thanks. I’m the only admin for the websites in question, so I’ll allow updates and update the theme manually when I see an update is available.
