    In the Chrome browser, when my blog is visited, this warning page pops up:

    “ contains content from, a site known to distribute malware. Your computer might catch a virus if you visit this site.
    Google has found malicious software may be installed onto your computer if you proceed. If you’ve visited this site in the past or you trust this site, it’s possible that it has just recently been compromised by a hacker. You should not proceed, and perhaps try again tomorrow or go somewhere else.”

    Anyone know how to fix this, I have no idea where to start, I have nothing no links or anything going to the site they mention…

    Please help!

  • Why so it does.

    Assume you’ve been hacked, or a bad plugin/theme has exposed you:

    So what should I do, it doesn’t appear that I’ve been hacked, I’ve changed my passwords to be safe.

    I have added a new plugin in weeks, and the theme has been the same for 9 months.

    If Google thinks you’ve got content from another site that YOU didn’t put there, you should assume you’ve been hacked. Doesn’t matter if it APPEARS like it, treat it like a hack.

    Change passwords.

    Check ALL your files on your server. In fact, go ahead and download a fresh install of WP, overlay that on your site, and do the same with all your plugins and themes. Check every file for anything weird.

    I’ve looked at the files on the server, I really didn’t see anything strange and looked at the dated of the last time the files have been modified, I didn’t see anything recent.

    You kind of lost me a little bit with the “download a fresh install and overlay it on my site”. I’m not really sure what you mean by that.

    Not sure what to do now, I’m thinking it is some kind of error on google’s end or something.

    Assuming that is your site, you do have content from the site Google is warning you about:

    <div class="textwidget">
          <a href="" target="_blank">
            <img src="" alt="Click Here To Get His FREE Training Video Now" border="0">

    It looks like the offending item is in a text widget. The question is “Did you put it there?” If you did, remove it. This will wreck you Google rankings and your traffic. If not, you were hacked whether you think so or not.

    Thanks, yes I put that there and was using an image the site google was warning about. Weird because it was just an image, I wasn’t linking to them. I just deleted it and it the warning is now gone.

    Thanks for the help guys, I was on the verge of a panic attack.

    You kind of lost me a little bit with the “download a fresh install and overlay it on my site”. I’m not really sure what you mean by that.

    I meant do a manual re-install. Go get a fresh copy of the WordPress zip file. Upload ALL those files to your server. its the safest thing to do.

    And because the image you were linking to was on that other site, Google sees it.
