Choosing a better placeholder?

Hey BJ. Something like https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ressio/lazy-load-xt/master/src/loading.gif would work immensely better for when images are a bit bigger or connection is just slow. But I noticed occasionaly the loading image being stretched 100% wide on a site. It’s probably due to the responsive ruleset doing .grid img { max-width: 100%; height: auto; } or similar.

How do you recommend containing a real placeholder image with CSS on your plugin?
