  • Hi oolleegg55,
it means Wordfence attempted to change the permissions on some files but was not allowed to do so. Perhaps your host has some security restrictions in place on your hosting account? I would check with them first.

You can also check your servers error logs to see if you see any more errors there. If there are no other errors and you are able to perform scans without error, I would assume the plugin is still working correctly.

    Hi wfasa,

Yes of course. It is server’s restriction. But I can’t change it. These errors appeared after update 6.1.10. And now I see these errors every day. To be honest permit to change permissions for files is not good idea. What do you think?

Hi again. Sorry for the late reply. I don’t think it’s common to have chmod disabled but I will check with our devs to make sure.

Thanks for answer! I hope you will do something with these warnings.

    Same issue here, any update?

    Hi!
If the host has disabled chmod or does not allow the user your WordPress is running as to use chmod there can potentially be issues with file permissions at some point. It would specifically pertain to the Firewalls function. There is not much we can do about this since we can not compensate for lack of software features. However, I have opened a case to suppress this error so that it will not clog up your logs etc. Our internal case number for reference is FB4333, should you like to inquire about this in the future.
