  • You shouldn’t have to CHMOD any directories for files put into your posts.

The template files would depend on the theme you are using. Look for index.php, sidebar.php, footer.php, header.php, about.php and archive.php they are the basic ones.

in my theme editor page at the bottom i get this

“If this file were writable you could edit it.”

also when i try and upload an inline file i get this

Unable to create directory /(my dir’s)/wp-content/uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
    Back to Image Uploading

So if things dont have to be CHMODed then whats the solution?

i’ve fixed it, CHMOD details found here
