• Has anyone run into this problem. I wanted a test server, so I load up xampp on an extra computer. The install went well. I did a fresh W0rdPress install. I wanted to make the folder wp-images writable so I can upload if I wanted, but no matter what I did, I could not change its permissions. I use ftp, smartftp, ws-ftp, cmd, I mean nothing worked. I know that I can just drap and drop files into wp-images. Has anyone else run into this?

  • I dragged and dropped.
I tried everytging else on my xampp setup, all to no avail.
It’s like trying to use the wp editor – that seems to b0rk too, so I just have text editors open with various files when I’m playing with the xampp wp.

I see. In the big picture it is really not a problem, it just seemed alittle odd. I wonder if I would have the same problem if I was running xampp in an XP Pro environment. I guess I will have to use my windows mobile training points to get a free copy. Thanks podz.

I’m running XP Home, I doubt there is a difference at that level ?
