Chinese Character showing up as ???

    Hi,

    I ran a multi-language site english-chinese and else… Everything is running great. I love your plugin, it’s simple, efficient, beautiful. You did a great job.

    But when i input chinese character on marker’s name or popup’s content, it shows ??? instead after i save.

    I guess it’s an issue with character encoding from the plugin, which file should i edit to solve this issue?

    Hi there,

    Thank you for the message, and apologies for the issues you are experiencing. I must admit the plugin has not been tested for non-roman characters. If you could let me know if the characters are saving correctly in the database (as a start), this will assist me in trying to resolve the issue.

    Thank you for taking time to answer me.

    Please check the following screenshots:

    It seems that the characters are not properly saved in the database.

    If i try to manually edit the database and input some chinese characters, here is the result:

    0 rows affected.

    Warning: #1366 Incorrect string value: ‘\xE4\xBD\xA0\xE5\xA5\xBD’ for column ‘Title’ at row 1

    Hope these datas can help.

    Hi,

    The new version sets the charset as utf8 for the easy2map database tables. Please could you test to see if your issue is now resolved.
