• Hi,

I have used since eight month the theme : twentythirteen .
I have developed a child theme for many things but I don’t care of the admin UI.

It should be easy to explain the problem with the capability of uploading here some screenshots.

Sometimes this is a gageure like explain by the text some details of a paint or technical drawings (send svg in text and copy to viewer…)… We are obliged to write : ‘litterature’ to communicate here.

After some plugins columns added, the tables for “all pages” or “all articles” which don’t define minimum width for the title display is displayed on a 20 pixels width (then the best is 3 chars per line) then you display on one high column the title (which is quite unable to read) into a quite full blank page, while you have near one page used per article.

Explanation : the second column (the title) had no width defined and the others have percentage of the raws width. After adding 30% for three plugins it remains 1% for the title.
The true solution is a form, not a table, or a more sophisticated table, keeping a right place for the sortable columns but raws for lists (categories, tags etc…) the head being the id + slug with a second line containing full title.

I don’t plan to develop this and I am not sure that it is useful to develop it to be distributed. More if it exist, even for me, it should be lost time.

So my question is : Do any user must rewrite this UI or a child theme exists which is a little more ergonomic to manage these lists ?

    Best regards

To clarify, is this regarding what a normal user would see on your website or the dashboard?

You can upload screenshots using other services and just link to them in your post here in the forum.

    Hi,

    Let’s be clear on concepts
You mean that the “list all articles” is a part of the “dashboard” while form me (the admin menu contains at the first level of menu : “Dashboard”… “Articles” … “Pages” (the Twentythirteen “admin site” interface menu).
As you login as admin and choose “admin site”, you reach the User Interface which presents the “admin the site”. There is, here, a little trick in concepts use :
the “admin functions of a site” uses a UI (a User Interface) which I name commonly “admin UI” (I don’t remember which is the “codex” name for it but with keywords “admin” and “interface” the 3rd item on google is “How to Customize Your WordPress Admin User Interface”) there is a whole set of administration screens (the basic and the plugins ones) which are each one a part of the “admin UI” while the “Dashboard” contain into the “admin menu” only three options and “Articles” is a first level into the admin functions which are using the “admin UI” – the “admin site UI” content is defined by the whole presentations, menu, tables etc… shown to the admin site functions and it is specific and defined into the “admin” section of a theme and by the plugins.
