  • I’m new to child themes. I’m obviously doing something wrong with either my container or content coding. Or something else. I’m trying to set a left margin in the content however whatever I do has no affect.

Also, I want to replace all #ff4b33 with #740000. That too is not working. Is there an easier, or correct, way to do this than what I have done?

    Can someone check my code?

It looks like you’ve copied the entire twentyten/style.css into twentytenchild/style.css.

Try this: make a backup copy of what you’ve done so far and then try Esmi’s Twenty Ten Child theme.

    http://quirm.net/themes/twenty-ten-child/

Install that and in twentyten-child/style.css (from Esmi’s zip file) add only the portions of CSS that you’ve changes after the @import( line. Don’t duplicate everything, just the parts you need to change.
