Magazine Basic
Child theme for v. 3.0 (4 posts)

    I created a child theme like a good site admin, but the new version of Magazine Basic renders all my changes useless. Fonts, widget background colors -- all those edits in my child theme no longer show up. I'm assuming this is because the 3.0 style.css is so different that the child theme can't successfully overwrite?

    I'm not sure I'm doing anything here but registering my annoyance with having to unexpectedly redesign my website mid-week. But if there's a way I can make 3.0 register my child theme without rewriting the whole thing based on the 3.0 style.css template, I'd love to hear it!

    Child themes work exactly how they should with Magazine Basic 3.0. The issue is most likely that you are still using the old CSS selectors. The changes required are listed in this support thread.

    I can't access that support thread because I'm not a Premium member. But thanks; that sounds like more or less what I figured the problem was.

    Sorry about that. Here's the CSS changes:

    post-title => entry-title
    post-content => entry-content
    post-meta => entry-meta
    footer.article => footer.entry
