    …using the “@ import…” call in the style.css during the initial setup?

    Am I doing something wrong? Right? Is this a new feature to WP 3.6?

    Not quite sure what you are asking. Nothing has changed in regard to child themes in WP3.6. Generally, a child theme does need the @import line to inherit parent theme styles.

    Can you clarify and post a link to your site?

    I went ahead and added the @ import line in the child theme css, but as mentioned the child theme inherited all parent theme styles without it, thanks.

    Did you create that child theme or is that the one from the theme site? They just updated the theme so maybe they changed some things – as your site has multiple stylesheets called, including the parent one separately from the usual structure.
