I created a child theme for the Business Idea theme which I downloaded from wordpress.org. Until now my child theme CSS has been overriding the parent theme. I’m trying to change the background color of the footer area using a parent theme class. However when I display the page the override is not there. Viewing it in Chrome inspector I can see my override CSS is crossed out in favor of the parent theme definition.

Any advice on how to get my child theme CSS to work in this instance?

    Thank you!

Try making that property important by add !important at end of the property.
