 * Most users create their own child theme. Instructions are [here](http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes).

 * Is that through Jetpack? There are some things that you might need to create
a child theme for. For example, if you need to add content to the header or footer.
But you can probably do most of the things you need with just CSS, especially
things that are related to appearance (font size, colors, some positioning, padding
   or spacing, etc).

 * Yes, think it is CrouchingBruin, shall I just use that then? There also a custom
field in the theme itself. Just wonder if these are effected with updates at
   all?

 * If the theme also has a custom CSS option, then that should be safe to use as
well. Most themes and plugins store their CSS options in a database table, so
they are generally safe from theme updates. So use either one. The one advantage
to using a plugin (like Jetpack) is that if you change themes and had styled
an element that might be common between them (like a widget from another plugin),
then the rules from the plugin would still be available for that element.

 * As far as I can tell, following the standard WP Child theme procedures, Activello
does not pass on all styles to the child. So I don’t think it’s ‘child theme
   compatible’ out of the box.
 * Can the theme dev provide any help on how to make sure all styles are enqueued
   when using a child theme?

 * Hi there,
 * The Activello theme is child theme compatible and works well with child theme.
 * You can use the simple child theme of Activello theme shared in the following
   reply.
