Child Theme

Hi.
I tried to create a child theme. I respected strictly the WP codex but i had the following error :

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare itransform_setup() (previously declared in /home/srbdev/www/wordpress/wp-content/themes/i-transform-child/functions.php:138) in /home/srbdev/www/wordpress/wp-content/themes/i-transform/functions.php on line 217

Before that, i had to put those two files in inc repertory :
class-tgm-plugin-activation.php and options-framework.php
options-framework.php

Can you help me ?

only overwrite functions you need to overwrite, you can not overwrite some functions specially the one not wrapped withing if ( ! function_exists() )

Thank you. I don’t need to overwrite functions. May i delete function file from child theme ?

you do not need the functions.php but you might need it to enqueue the parent style. to be safe just keep a blank functions.php

infect you can start the child theme from just one file style.css

just clarifying for child theme creation – do you need to add the modified color css as well – for example, I modified the yellow.css – copy it to the child folder?

@bbqbrian if you want to modify that file, add that too, but you will have to enqueue that file too.

the http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes says that

“The following example function will only work if your Parent Theme uses only one main style.css to hold all of the css. If your theme has more than one .css file (eg. ie.css, style.css, main.css) then you will have to make sure to maintain all of the Parent Theme dependencies.

your theme has 9 .css files

How do I make sure all dependencies are maintained?
What code do I need to put in the functions.php file?
