[resolved] Child page link dissapearing on Hover--CSS issue (4 posts)

    I have made a custom theme on the Twenty Eleven theme and customized the menu a little bit. I can add a child page easily, and it will show up where it needs to be, but when I hover over the child page link, the link dissapears. Sometimes I can trick it into staying on it. It correctly links.

    Please help..

    External Link:

    The child page's are under the 'About' and the 'Interaction' page.

    I believe that it is a padding/margin issue? I do not know...

    /////////////Additional quick question//////////////////////

    I began this site by customizing the Twenty Eleven theme. Realizing that was a horrible idea I quickly downloaded the theme via FTP, renamed the stylesheet, zipped it back up, and uploaded it as a new theme. Will this site be safe for updates in the future?

    The menu seems to be working fine for me in Firefox, Safari and Chrome on a Mac. If you are still having problems (or maybe you are using IE?), you might want to start by making sure you don't have any HTML or CSS errors:

    Thank you very much for the quick reply! These forums are very helpful.

    I fixed it by adjusting the 'top' positioning element in the style sheet. I changed it from 3.333em to 3.1em. It seems to work in IE, Opera, Chrome, and FF on a PC, and the same on a Mac:

    #access ul ul {
    display: none;
    float: left;
    margin: 0;
    position: absolute;
    top: 3.1em;
    left: 0;
    width: 188px;
    z-index: 99999;

    The validation page brought up multiple errors, but it seems to be functioning fine in all browsers? As far as what I have done in making a theme by saving the twenty eleven theme and renaming the style sheet--will this be safe from updates?

    functioning fine in all browsers

    A bold statement, as browsers have many versions.

    As far as what I have done in making a theme by saving the twenty eleven theme and renaming the style sheet

    Would it not be easier to create a Child Theme and use the stylesheet within that?
