I checked the theme there seem to be no issue on my side. Can you please recall making any changes the the themes files?
Or if possible can you try to check, if the same issue exists in the fresh theme file?

I made a post one day and a couple days later with no changes I started having the issue. I am a google literate wordpress user only, I have no computer background, so I am not sure how to check the fresh theme file without getting rid of all my mods. If you scroll down the screen at http://www.makingorganizedmoms.com/ you will see the featured image just starts getting cut of on a couple of the posts. I left the picture out of the top post because it looked ridiculous. Are my pictures the wrong size, or is there a setting I can change? Thanks for your help!

Please try and regenerate your images with Regenerate Thumbnails plugins and try and add feature images again.

I tried the regenerate image option and it did nothing. I took down and reloaded the images and they did not change. I remade one of the images and made it much longer than it was tall and it fit without cutting it off, but the picture looks kind of funny in that format. Is there a way to make the featured image section accept a taller photo with custom css or by any other means?

The default size for the thumbnails in the theme is 300, 169 so all your featured images are being cropped.
You can simply use an image size overriding plugin like “Simple Image Sizes”
( https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/ ) to add you custom image size for the featured image.
