    Can not customize site.
    WordPress 4.9
    Godaddy Hosting
    Logged in as Admin
When I click on publish I get taken to a page that says “Cheatin’ uh? You are not authorized to customize this site”
I can install\activate deactivate and uninstall plugins
I can publish pages, posts and media.
I have deactivated all plugins, switched themes, restored from backup same problem.
I even completely uninstalled WP, deleted all files from root directory, and made sure that the previous DB was deleted. Then re installed with a fresh install of 4.9. Default theme and no plugins, and I get the same error when trying customize the default page with no plugins.
    What else can I do?

The cheatin Uh message happens when the nonce was incorrect. Did you leave the page open for more than 24 hours before trying to publish?

Thanks for your reply what do you mean by “nonce was incorrect”?

To answer your question I may have left the page open on the original site, but I have since completely uninstalled WordPress, multiple times.
As soon as the install completes I try and customize various things like link color or tag line etc.. and each time I get the same Cheatin error.

I have uninstalled it via Godaddy’ uninstall as well as completed deleted the files and even my root folder as well as the DB in MySQL

Also, if you recently installed any browser extensions related to cookies or privacy, disable them.

T-P thanks, that seemed to do it. Kind of embarrassing, but I did a total reset of my browser and I can now customize the site.

    Restoring from back up lol

Every failure is a success if you learn from it.
