  • Greetings all,

I’m having a problem which puts me in dire straights, as I come to you…

Beginning Saturday afternoon, *some* (not all, about 30%) of those trying to buy from my site using Internet Explorer get stuck on the checkout page. When they click the “Place Order” button, the page grays out like it’s supposed to, and the little wheel begins spinning as it processes.

It does this to infinity (at least a couple hours). The order never ‘enters the system’ in any way.

It happened more on Sunday, even more yesterday, and now today, my business is hemorrhaging money as advertisements placed weeks ago continue to pour traffic into my site. Only some are calling my CS line to place their order over the phone, so it’s a big bummer 😉

Is there anyone who has a suggestion for me? People using chrome or FF don’t seem to be effected, but for my aged demographic, those browsers are pretty rare.

I’ve tried 10 live orders with IE9, and 8 of them have stuck in this infinite loop.

Thank you all so much for your time- I’m praying one of you can help me out.

I suggest you check your server errors logs – if there were any errors during checkout they would be listed there. After identifying the errors you can take action 🙂

Nothing valuable in the logs… ;(

    Any other ideas, mates?

Did you check the PHP error log? Usually hosting servers generate two separate files for those, one is the server error log and another one is specific to PHP.

If both logs are clean. Then perhaps you have JS issues. You should monitor the console when testing to see if you find anything odd.
