    It’s possibly related to a conflict with a plugin or the theme.

    To test for plugin or theme conflict.

    1. disable all plugins other than the store plugin
    2. enable a default wordpress theme such as 2013
    3. go to Settings > Store > Presentation and click “Flush Theme Cache”
    4. Clear your browser cache

    Now test the functionality of adding an existing file.

    Thanks so much for looking at this Edward…but unfortunately it didn’t resolve the issue (but I do have a good procedure to check for other problems in future – tx).

    With all plugins deactivated (including Gold cart) + 2013 theme activated + cleared browser cache my navigation links for pages were returning a listing of individual products.

    DO you have any suggestion for what I should try next?

    While testing did you still get the “no posts matched” message or was that working?
    With Gold Cart disabled your products would be displayed as a list.
    You can leave Gold Cart active while testing.
