    Hello there,

    Thank you so much for checking by. I really need some help. I do not understand CSS or coding the wordpress. But there are some minor annoyances that I’d like to fix.

    I always use the visual tab whenever I make a post. But the problem is the space between paragraph when I use bullet points after publishing it. The published post didn’t show any bullet points nor the space between the paragraphs.

    Also, the bullet point is visible in the visual format before i published but it’s not visible after publishing it.

    I am really having hard time making sure that whatever i edit in visual is the same when i published. It seems to be different. I do not know how else to explain this. I really appreciate if anyone can look into the source code and fix it for me?

    my website is http://www.unlockchiropractic.com and I use the wptuts theme.

    Thank you!

    Around line 47 in style.css file, this

    ol, ul {
    list-style: none;
    }

    Is saying ‘display no bullet points or any styles to list elements’.

    If you want to change this, I’d suggest either creating a Child Theme CSS file (http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes) or using this plugin, http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/my-custom-css/ .

    i am not familiar with making child theme, it seems rather complicated. I’ll stick with the plugin for time being. Unless someone want to make a child theme for me.

    With the custom css plugin installed, what are the codes that i should enable?

    anyhow, i’ll check with the plugin and report back if it works! 🙂

    thanks

    When checking if the plugin works,
    enter this custom style:

    ol, ul{
     list-style-type: square;
    }

    You can have loads of different bullet point styles, shown on this page http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_list-style-type.asp , or even your own image.

    oh wow that works!

    so with the custom CSS plugin, i can add any codes to it? regardless of what i typed in?

    it doesn’t need to be in any order or format?

    thanks! 🙂

    The general principle with CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) is the greater the cascading position of code, the more precedence it will take over other elements.

    So if you have

    ol, ul{
     list-style-type: square;
    }

    ol, ul{
     list-style-type: circle;
    }

    The list items will be bullet pointed with circles.

    The code must only include CSS format, not PHP, HTML or JavaScript.

    makes sense. what if i want to change the color of the text in general? the post i made usually have grey text. i want to change the grey text to a black text.

    the link color is not a problem.

    it seems that i have to highlight the text in the visual editor from grey to black to make it black color. is there a way that the text is automatically black (even when published) unless changed by a user in the visual editor before publishing?

    Add this code, including your hexadecimal value of the colour you want (starting with # and usually 3 to 6 digits long).
    E.g at the moment it is dark grey

    body {
     color: #555;
    }

    wow that’s really simple!!

    now, if you don’t mind my asking i have another question,

    i’d like to add something. it has to do with google custom search engine. I know how to get the code from google.

    But the issue is, i like where the search engine bar is located in my theme, but the result page is not showing up within main frame. It seems to show up in the sidebar. I do not want that. I do not like to have a new window or tab (since people will have ad block programs).

    What I am trying to say is that I like the result to show up in my site below the header and beside the sidebar and above the footer. Makes sense?

    not sure how to go about that.

    i really really appreciate your kind help 🙂 Thanks!

    What I am trying to say is that I like the result to show up in my site below the header and beside the sidebar and above the footer. Makes sense?

    Underneath the sidebar or underneath and separate to the main white box that contains your posts & slider?

    i mean the front page where all my post shows up. Suppose someone type something in the search engine in the side bar, i want the results to show up in that front page where the latest posts used to be.

    makes sense?

    It’ll be within the div ID “wrap” and “post-content”
    E.g

    <div id="wrap" class="clearfix"><div id="post-content">
     <div id="post-content">
      <!-- Your search results go here -->
     </div>
    </div>

    EDIT : OOPS i think i put the wrong type of code.

    ok. i’m still confused.

    i just went to google and made a custom search engine.

    this is the code where the search engine bar is suppose to be

    <div id="cse-search-form" style="width: 100%;">Loading</div>
    <script src="http://www.google.com/jsapi" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
      google.load('search', '1', {language : 'en', style : google.loader.themes.V2_DEFAULT});
      google.setOnLoadCallback(function() {
        var customSearchOptions = {};  var customSearchControl = new google.search.CustomSearchControl(
          '012474349042792806020:hc7lkvh-1r4', customSearchOptions);
        customSearchControl.setResultSetSize(google.search.Search.FILTERED_CSE_RESULTSET);
        var options = new google.search.DrawOptions();
        options.setSearchFormRoot('cse-search-form');
        customSearchControl.draw('cse', options);
      }, true);
    </script>

    <style type="text/css">
      .gsc-control-cse {
