 * I too wouldn’t mind getting this answer. I’d really hate to use something like
   flooble’s chatterbox.
    Has anyone scripted an open source, less ridiculous version?
   Is there a plugin out there?

 * go to one of the popular php script repositories and search for `shoutbox` or`
   chatterbox` and include it into your sidebar or footer.
 * most of these stand alone javascript and php scripts work on their own, once 
   you have it working, simply include it into a pretty div, or a handsome ul in
   the menu.
 * if you get stuck once you get started, come back and share. this is good info
   and i’m sure a lot of people want to know this too.

 * Okay, by “chatterbox” do you guys mean “shoutbox” or “tagboard”?
 * If so, there’s a fairly decent one (or so I’m told, as I personally have ZERO
   use for it) called “wordspew” (ugh…. but anyway….)
