Character problems

    Hi, I’ve built a whole new front end for wordpress. Everything works fine, but I have a problem showing some characters, they come out as squares. I’m just starting out with php and not to great at it, so could anyone point me in the right direction to fix this.

    I’m using what comes straight out the database for the post and I’ve set the page to UTF-8 in the header of the page.
