Is there a consensus on the best way to put character entities in titles? By these, I mean, accented characters, apostrophes, ampersands, and other such things, as most of you surely know. I notice that some feeds and things such as firefox live bookmarks print out the character entity code (not the actual character) in some cases. Is there a way around this?

  • Informative, but no, as it turns out. Here’s an example… I have a review of an album by an artist:

    Krüger & Coyle

In some places (i.e. my profile), this shows up as:

    Krüger & Coyle

Any idea why? I am starting to figure that this isn’t any kind of WordPress problem, but if I can tweak it at the source so my content displays properly wherever it may be syndicated, that would be ideal.

I agree: it’s not a WP issue. I am sure there is something wrong with the site ( you referred to. Do a simple test (I did): go to their site and type in the serach box
It will give you a result:
    “Krüger not found”.

    Well, that settles that 🙂
