# Character accentuation problems

* You have a great plugin. But I had problems with character accents. On the edit
page everything is ok but when published, it gives an error.
* For example:
çã (çã) óle (Óle)

* Hi [@criacaoparaweb](https://wordpress.org/support/users/criacaoparaweb/) I have
taken a look in to this issue and I am not able to replicate it. I’ve tried adding
some content in to the block editor which displays fine and also displays correctly

* There are a few things that may cause issues with accented characters. Please
can you double check that your published page includes a `` tag in the `` section. Also, make sure your database is setup to
use the correct charset and collation which should be `utf8mb4` and `utf8mb4_unicode_ci`.
* I really want to help you with this issue so if the above doesn’t help, please
could you provide a few additional details which may help me solve it. Could
you send me:
- Screenshot of your page in the editor
- Screenshot of the published page
- What block are you using when you see the issue?
- Are you using a theme, if so which one?
- Do you have any other plugins installed? If so what?
- Copy of the code from the code editor view. You can do this by navigating
to the page within WordPress, then click the three dots at the top right,
select Code Editor and copy all of the code you see. If you can send this
across, I can create the page on my local machine and hopefully see the issue
you are having and help you find a resolution.

I’m using
the twenty-twenty-two theme.
* My is even with UTF-8 and the database with utf8mb4_unicode_520_ci
* In the plugin I’m loading the Carousel component, and only in the plugin the
characters error happens, in the other parts of the site the graphic accents
are rendered normally on the front-end

* One more detail, the text is written correctly in the database table, without
character errors, as shown below:

for the additional information, very helpful! I’ve setup a fresh install of WordPress
and created a page using the code you sent across and I can now see the issue.
It looks like the issue is specific to the carousel.
