 * Hi, I’ve just recently created a self-hosted blog using wordpress.org. The URLs
   for posts/pages were displaying numbers and symbols rather than the domain name.
   I have followed all instructions for making the change via phpMyAdmin and it
   worked, but it has thrown out all the formatting on the live site. I am using
   a wordpress template and many of the characteristics have been altered. Is this
   normal? Have I done something wrong?

 * Can you provide a link to the site please?

 * Yes, it’s [http://thischarmingmum.com](http://thischarmingmum.com) or [http://69.89.31.142/~thischar](http://69.89.31.142/~thischar).
   Thanks for any help you can offer.

 * I have changed back to the 69.89…etc URL so that the site goes back to looking
   normal. I still can’t seem to change the URL without it effecting the look of
   the home page. Any suggestions?

 * I think that you’ll need to explain in more details what you mean by “can’t seem
   to change the URL without it effecting the look of the home page.” I’m not sure
   what your site is supposed to look like. I see a background graphic of grass,
   black text and the same graphic in the banner.

 * Thank you for responding. I have managed to sort this out via my hosting company.
