• Hello,

I’m using an auto-install of WordPress that came with my web host. I’ve come across a really wicked theme that I’d like to use. I’ve tried changing themes in the past with no luck so I’ve stuck with the default…but I’d really like to use this new theme.

    What are the steps?

I’ve downloaded all the files for the theme but now I don’t know where to upload them so I can use it.

    1. Open cPanel
    2. er..then what?

Cheers for any tips. Take care

  • Click cPanel icon for file manager. In file manager, navigate to the wp-content/themes folder in the wp installation folder. Make a folder named the same as the theme. Open the new folder. Click on the Upload Files link. Browse to each theme file using the fields at the top of the page, one file to each field. If you have more than twelve (or however many it is), upload the twelve, then browse to the rest like you did for the first bunch.

Then open the admin/presentation section of your blog and select the new theme.

My stepdaughter has done medical assistance in various parts of China – your photos remind me of hers. Beautiful site!

Still a couple things to figure/iron out still but I’m glad the main transition worked. Thanks for your help!

You’re very welcome! I’ve bookmarked your site, and sent the addy to my stepdaughter….

I’m having the same problem, but I am not understanding the answer. I cannot change to any other theme from the default.
