Changing way excerpts appear on main page

    Hi,

    I don’t know where to post this so I thought themes would be most appropriate.

    I am re-vamping my site @ http://www.gigglesnort.net and using Graphene theme. The theme suits my needs and is excellent but I would like to change the excerpts appear on the main page.

    I have seen 2 sites (1 is WP and 1 is Blogger) that have similar excerpt layouts as to what I’m looking to do.

    http://www.fictionators.com/ (WP theme and I do believe it’s called Blissful but can’t find it on the WP site and don’t know if the layout I’m talking of is actually on this theme).

    http://www.theluvnv.com/ (Blogger but still same layout idea)

    See how it has the image of the book, links to where to buy it and then the actual excerpt within the box that includes the image?

    I would love something like that but don’t know if it’s a theme edit, plugin or something else.

    All help would be fantastic.

    Yes, Fictionators is using the Blissful theme for the Genesis Framework. It is a commercial theme, which is why you won’t find it here.

    See how it has the image of the book, links to where to buy it and then the actual excerpt within the box that includes the image? I would love something like that but don’t know if it’s a theme edit, plugin or something else.

    There are plugins that will do something like this for you. Have you searched the repository for them?

    The rest of what you want to do can be achieved mostly with CSS. Are you using a child theme or have you made your changes using the theme options? How much do you already know about CSS?

    A child theme? I’m just using Graphene at the moment and have made all changes using the theme options so far.

    I can do a little with CSS but I’m severely out of practice and honestly wouldn’t know where to start with this.

    I thought about plugins but couldn’t think what search terms would yield results.

    Is the Genesis Framework a CMS built around WP or is it like a plugin that you add to the installation. I had a look on their site (GF one) but it’s very unclear.
