Changing URL in network/sites (3 posts)

    Hello to all,

I have a WP multisite composed of one main website and four different sub-sites. Due to poor planning (i thought I was only going to migrate a blog to WP, then finally realized that with WPMS I could migrate a lot more...). But now my main website is messing up my url's.

My main website's url is http://www.mymine.com/blog-something/, making my sub-sites appear as http://www.mymine.com/blog-something/somethingmore/ or http://www.mymine.com/blog-something/somethingelse/

I know that if I had planned correctly, I could have created a "dummy" main site just for purposes of making the websites appear with something better. Just as http://www.mymine.com/mymine-network/somethingelse/ but I guess it's too late for that.

I thought about changing the path in the network/settings page at /wp-admin/network/site-info.php?id=x or on the main site-settings.php?id pages but those seem to rather more mess up the whole thing. Setting them back to the original gets my sub-site working again.

I'd like to know what is doable or if there is another "easy" solution. I'm really a plug&play beginner with WP so If I start to have to code things I'm afraid things might get a little out of hand.

    Thanks for the help.

    Mark

  2. Not particularly easy, no.

You'd want to treat it like moving WP: https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress#Moving_WordPress_Multisite

thanks Mika, I'll try an "easy" workaround then (by creating a new multisite leaving the blog type links on the old one).
