Hello again! I can’t even follow the first two steps of that at my godaddy ftp site. Can’t find the general panel or the place to change the site address. And godaddy has no interest in assisting with this–ha. 🙂
The first 2 steps have to do with the WordPress back end.
So in your admin, you need to go to settings > general and change the site url.
You do need FTP access though. So I would make sure that you have that. Once you have that info, I would suggest using a tool like filezilla to FTP to your site. The Go daddy cpanel is a nightmare to navigate.
Okay, I’m getting there. I believe I’ve completed the steps and now get:
Warning: require_once(/home/content/X/e/n/Xenara/html/jng/wp-load.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/X/e/n/Xenara/html/jng/wp-blog-header.php on line 12
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/content/X/e/n/Xenara/html/jng/wp-load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php’) in /home/content/X/e/n/Xenara/html/jng/wp-blog-header.php on line 12
I tried the above before, and it doesn’t work ’cause you can’t redirect a website to a page of a website. I think I need to rename my blog the original wordpress url it has–don’t know what that is–and then try this from there. I think I may have messed things up.
I can’t get into my wordpress admin page, so I don’t know how I can give it it’s own url and then forward the website to the wordpress site????
