• I have an OK theme that is currently installed on my website, but I’d like to experiment with another.

If I install and activate this new theme, can I revert to the exact settings on my current theme if I don’t like the new one?

Will it be all the exact same?

Hi Sorry for not including that originally.

When ever I Live Preview my website with my new theme called Oxygen, I lose all my sidebars, pages, post tags, and banner.

    I’m currently using 2011 theme.

I want to use the Oxygen theme, and maintain all my current sidebars, pages(in the sidebar), post tags, and banner….

Is there a way I can revert to my edited 2011 theme if I change to Oxygen and don’t like it?

Can I add all the same edits ive made to 2011 theme to oxygen?

Have you edited the Twenty Eleven theme to customize it? If so, it is not a good idea because you will lose all the customizations when you update the theme, and always you need the unedited theme to troubleshoot WordPress problems. If you want to customize, create a child theme so that you will not lose customizations.

Can I add all the same edits ive made to 2011 theme to oxygen?

No. You have to customize other themes to suit your needs independent of 2011, or other themes.

there is a good chance of losing widgets

Gaurav and Krisha are right, if you select a new theme, you will need to reset your widgets, menus, header image and any other options.
