 * I currently have a site up and running. However, I would like to change the theme
   and update/edit the pages accordingly. I realize that I could take the whole
   site down (maintenance) while doing this, but is there another way? Can I work
   on the new site while the other one is still up?
 * Any thoughts on this? I’m still a bit of a newbie at hear!
 * Thanks!

   on [how install wamp server](http://gbpcentral.com/blog/how-to-install-wamp-server-on-computer-and-make-changes-to-files/)

 * Thanks…could you elaborate on your second option “install another wordpress in
   a folder”. I think this would be the best option for me. I think I understand,
   but I would like more details.
 * Thanks!

 * You can create another folder in root and install wordpress in that folder with
   separate database and when creating the config file change the unique prefix.

 * The only thing I can see are the folders: wp-admin, wp-includes, wp-content…and
   then a number of files. I cannot move up the folder/directory tree any further.
   Can I install it there? What is a “unique prefix.” Could you be a little more
   specific.
 * If I am able to figure this out, what would I do then after installing WordPress,
   building the site, etc. Would I then move it to the existing directory?
 * Thx

 * If this is your own host account you can create folders along with where wp-
   folders are.

 * So I can’t create the folder along side the wp-admin, etc, folders….I would have
   to go up a level to create one?
 * I think I’m going to try to create a local server and database and then just
   move it to my server.
