# Changing Theme From Command Prompt

 * Hi Guys,
 * I have just recently installed a brand new version of WordPress onto my site 
   through Amazon Web Services and a linux command shell. I can log in no problem(
   Check the live site here) – [http://52.63.42.250/](http://52.63.42.250/)
 * However whenever I upload a new template and activate it brings the site unreacheable.
   To make it live again I renamed the **functions.php** file within the newly activated
   directory to **functionsold.php** which had deactivated the theme and reverted
   to the default WordPress theme making the site live.
 * I’ve given all the appropriate permissions to the folders using the CHOWN 755
   command. I am just wondering if whenever I upload and activate the new theme 
   through the Admin console if I need to change anything in the backend? Maybe 
   update the new template name into a wp-config.php file etc???? Really lost?
 * Can anyone help me?

   themes from?
