# Changing theme destroy all setting

 * Hi there.
    Hope everyone is doing great. I had few problem with my web and change
   theme. but since then all my pages are destroyed. the blocks which i used to 
   create posts and pages all messed up. now i need to change everything and redesigning
   it . is there any way i can recover those block? here is example :

 * Current theme is masonic the previous one was enfold.
    what are these codes and
   how can i recover from them to save my time ? Thank you in advance.

 * And that’s the problem with page builder plugins and themes, like what your old
   theme provided: [https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-layout-builder/](https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-layout-builder/)
 * The content is essentially in a proprietary “language” (those shortcodes) and
   only translated by the theme.
 * So, the only options here are either to continue to use the same theme, or re-
   build your content.
 * The good news is that WordPress has a built-in page builder (the Block Editor)
   introduced a few versions back: [https://wordpress.org/support/article/wordpress-editor/](https://wordpress.org/support/article/wordpress-editor/)
 * Since this is a built-in page builder, the content it generates will work under
   all themes.
 * So, personally, I recommend taking the chance to re-build your content under 
   the new Block Editor.
