Changing the way the frontpage displays chapters ENTIRELY

  • My coworkers are asking that I make a modification to the front page of the website.

They would like to display the top six authors with their most recent article and a short description as well as their thumbnail image. This would be displayed in a 2 columb, three row set. Based on how recent someone has posted an article, the front page would change out the selected most recent authors with their articles.

    Hope this makes some sense!

  • It makes sense – but you haven’t actually asked a question! Perhaps you’re just sharing that with us?

Haha, is this possible? Is there some kind of plugin that will allow this to occur?

How do you determine top 3 authors? is it by highest # of posts?

It’s certainly possible – pretty much anything’s possible with WordPress. But you’d probably need to write a plugin to do it properly. Although i guess you could do it in a template and maybe some code in the theme’s functions.php.
