  • 1. I copied the WP index.php into the root directory ( 2. I renamed the index.html file that was in the root so as not to interfere with the .php presence. 3. I redefined my SITE URL from to 4. I tested the site and it did not work. I got a “Site not found” error when I tried to access it. 5. Then I renamed the .htaccess file in the root and moved the one from the WP site directory. 6. This also did not work.
I have put everything back like it was and everything works fine now but I’d still like to publish my wordpress site on to and not the current site path of How do I accomplish this?
I have Permalinks in the Settings menu of WP but I don’t know what to change in it (if anything).
