Regarding the name change, it is part of a broader transition aimed at expanding the plugin’s functionality. We are working towards introducing several new features beyond the current honeypot and hCaptcha options, which is why the plugin has been rebranded as CF7 Apps. This reflects its evolution as an add-on to Contact Form 7, delivering enhanced spam protection and more advanced controls.
As for your concern about potential confusion with the original plugin, WordPress clearly displays the author’s name under the plugin title, and the short description outlines its purpose. This helps distinguish CF7 Apps from the original CF7 plugin.
Please know that the transition fully complies with WordPress guidelines and was carried out with great thought, research, and user feedback. While I regret that this change may have caused frustration, it was intended to support long-term improvements and provide greater value to our users.
