• I would like to use the Ordinary theme template for a new site I’m working on. The catch is that I don’t like the menu options, I would just like to have the pages across the menu bar and push the categories and archives to the sidebar. Is there a way to make this work?

    I haven’t done anything with it yet, I wanted to know if the menu on the theme is editable before I went through with it… the theme is located at;

    the menu pulls catagories and archives and such and puts the pages under a parent header… I want to break that up and have the pages go across

    Only thing you need to check is if this theme is compatible with wordpress 3.0 the rest can be changed so that menu can be changed.

    that theme is fine to use with 3.0 I just tried it out on my test site http://govpatel.com/wordpress

    I’m sorry I’m still not understanding on where and how to change the menu to do what I want… Like I understand that it’s compatable but it uses that SuckerTree menu and I want a more traditional (listing from left to right Home About This That Blog) menu… I don’t know how to change all that out.

    Thanks for your time on this

    Ok, I just want to either change the sucker tree menu to define the menu more standard so when someone adds a page it’s added to the Menu (cause there is no parent or child menus, so no need for the drop down).

    Or just remove the Suckertree menu all together and impliment a standard, ad a page get a link in the header menu kind of thing… Any further help would be appreciated

    I have checked the theme out and looked the code.
    there is lots things hard coded and for you if you do not know anything about how to change codes I recommend that use the default twentyten as I do not see anything different other than those images.
    You can customize twentyten the way you want.

    Yeah I can customize it any way I want but I don’t want to sit around switching all the css and trying to figure out how to switch the changing header… Can I just take the horizontal menu out somehow and just bring the menu in on the sidebar widget.

    Or just lay out what php files the menu is hard coded in and how to re define it in the translation.php file, i’m not a noob and can code php, html and kill css… so anything kinda directions should get me going in the right direction.

    It’s in the sidebar.php file.
