    Hi there,

first of all: thanks for the great plugin!
I wanted to translate the plugin into the German languages and I did so by creating a .po file using the wired-impact-volunteer-management.pot file in the plugins /languages folder.

Now my question: how do I active the new .po file? Where can I change the plugin to use this instead of the .pot file?

Thank you very much in advance! 🙂

    Best regards and Merry Christmas!
    Mats from Germany

Thanks for the kind words on the plugin Mats. We really appreciate it.

We’re not experts on translation, but there are two approaches that we know of to handle translations. The first option, which is more complicated, is for you to provide the translation directly to at On this page it says, “The initial language pack for the plugin will be generated when 90% of the Stable (latest release) sub-project strings have been translated (currently 25%).”

The other option is to use a plugin to help you translate the strings within Wired Impact Volunteer Management specifically for your website. The one we’ve seen recommended many times is Loco Translate. That should be a quicker approach to getting your translation to work.

Of course, we’d rather you provide the translation on so it helps all German speakers use our plugin. But we completely understand that it will likely be more time consuming and complicated.

Like I mentioned, we’re definitely not experts on translation, but let us know if you have any other questions. We’ll do our best to help. Happy holidays!

Thank you very much for the fast answer, Jonathan!

I have translated the plugin using Loco Translate to test out my translation’s .po-file. Everything seems to work fine.

I absolutely understand that it would be a good idea to publish the translation and I will definitely be doing so using the However, I faced some challenges regarding the import of the .po-File, so I will be entering the missing translations manually.

Thanks again and I wish you a wonderful new year of 2022!
