[Resolved] changing the excerpt to a custom excerpt

    I am using theme room-34-baseline. I want to change the post excerpts to custom ones. How can this be done? My index.php file currently has

    <?php the_excerpt('Read more ;') ; ?>

    And apparently there is supposed to be an excerpt box located where I enter my posts. But there isn’t one. Any ideas?

    an excerpt box located where I enter my posts

    near the top right, click the ‘screen options’ tab, then tick ‘excerpt’ – that will give you the box.
