 * So I am taking over a site, and need to change the theme.
 * This is my first time. The current theme up now is a child believe. If I were
   to install a new theme, would that delete all of the content?
 * I don’t 100% understand child themes. Plus one the current theme now it says
 * “This child theme requires it’s parent theme”
 * Thanks!

 * Changing the theme does not affect the content of a site.
 * A child theme is a way to be able to make changes to the parent theme without
   having those changes be overwritten when the theme is updated.
 * Have you seen this:

 * Can you post a link to your site? It sounds like it is a child theme, yes.

 * Still, it’s always a good idea to backup a site and database before you start
   making changes like this –

 * Thanks for your feedback.
 * I did some searching and saw suggestions on backing it up and did that.
 * I was able to successfully change the theme, for some reason I thought that a
   child theme was like a sub-theme so your page wouldn’t be changed.
 * Basically like if you were updating your index.html page, but didn’t want the
   contents to change so you name it index1.html…if that makes sense.
 * Again thanks for taking the time on giving feedback 🙂
