# Changing space between columns?

 * I’m using the default Kubrick theme, and I’ve been able to change the width of
   the blog and columns. But I can’t get the sidebar stuff to go anywhere but right
   against the main column – I’ve tried changing the margins, the padding, the alignment,
   etc. – nothing seems to work.

 * Save a copy of your current style.css, then open it and change the following:
 *     ```
       #sidebar
       margin-left:545px;
       padding: 20px 0 10px;
       width:190px;
       }
       ```
   
 * to
 *     ```
       #sidebar
       float: right;
       padding: 20px 20px 10px 0;
       width: 200px;
       }
       ```
   
 * then adjust padding or width to how you want it

 * Find the following in style.css
 *     ```
       /* Begin Sidebar */
       #sidebar
       {
       	padding: 20px 0 10px 0;
       	margin-left: 545px;
       	width: 190px;
       	}
       ```
   
 * Try increasing the margin-left and width values.

 * I tried that and what happened was the January 2009 from the calendar went out
   into the blue background, the calendar moved where I wanted it to be, and the
   categories stayed put.
