    Hi Jacob

I would like to change the slug of stored photos, mainly to hide the fact that it is a WordPress site. Current the address appears as /wp-content/uploads/wppa/568.jpg where I would like it to show as /gallery/568.jpg.

I have tried changing the option in the settings at IX-H-3 but then get an error “unable to create or write to */gallery”.

Please can you advise how to change the slug of stored photos.

    Many Thanks

Please do not modify IX-H3, this is the location where the original -source- image files are stored. If you change this, you should also – first – change the actual file location on the server to reflect the change.

    You can not change uploads/wppa/568.jpg

You can chnage the name/location of wp-content, see:
    https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Moving_wp-content_folder

Be carefull and try it on a test site first!!!!

You can change the photo indications in urls by using cryptic urls. See Table IV-A6.1 Enable encrypted links
Old links with ‘normal’ photo ids will still work, unless you tick Table IV-A6.2 Refuse unencrypted

You can prevent hotlinking. See Table IV-A18.

    Hi Jacob

I have found an alternative solution to the problem.

    Thanks for your help.
